The old well known Cumbach-Town-Bridge now is only a bridge for feet-passengers and bycicle-riders.
The tunnel under the rails has some problems. The painting-style doesn't agree with the Rudolstadt flair. And it's not so convienient. For wheel-chair-drivers often it's possible to come to the other side without help from another person.
All feet-passengers have to take a longer way to reach the city.
Only the east part of Rudolstadt, which the most inhabitants of Cumbach rather need to reach,
is reachable without a longer way.
If the old tunnel would had been reconstructed, no longer way would be the result.
Also the old way over the rails is closed now for ever.
Since the interlocking plant Leipzig is also managing the railway of Rudolstadt, there is no way over the rails and no rail-attendent house. - If we discuss the old traffic stops at the closed barriers, this is an advance.
Normally the old interlocking plant of Rudolstadt has to be given into a museum. But there is not enough many for it.
But from the new bridge in Cumbach very nice views to the Heidecksburg castle, the other parts of the town and surrounding are possible.
The reachability by car-traffic in Cumbach has won with the new bridge nethertheless
the longer way.We will hope, that the traffic connection on Rudolstadt side of the bridge will become better soon. And the traffic lights for feet-paasengers has to be very much better correlated and synchronized with the traffic lights of the Ludwigstraße (the neighbour street), that the feet-passengers don't have to wait at 3 different traffic lights.
